From start to finish, how does the custom design process go?

Once you purchase your Xpress Custom package, you will be contacted by a member of our team to have a phone consultation about your site design. After the phone consultation, we will provide you with a production timeline, with deadlines for you and for us. We will need you to deliver your content to us by a specific date and provide suggested revisions to the proof according to the timeline. We will establish dates for us to send you your front page proof, your whole website proof and the final product. If you have any questions along the way, do not hesitate to contact us!

How do you know what I want for my website?

After you place your order, we will contact you by telephone to set up a consultation with one of our designers to discuss your business and plan for your website. We’ll discuss the look you are going for, your business, your target audience, colors, whether you would like to utilize our stock photo library, and any websites you particularly like, so we can get an idea of your style. If we have questions along the way, we’ll contact you and follow up. You’re investing good resources into promoting your business. We will do our best to make sure that you get what you’re looking for.

How long does it take to get my website completed?

Because it’s a custom design, it really depends on what specifics or extras you would like to incorporate. Generally, for custom designed sites, we can have them available within one month of our consultation. After your design consultation, we will send you a detailed production schedule, outlining how we anticipate production to go. If you send us all of your content by the proposed deadlines and stick by your anticipated revision dates, we should be able to stick pretty close to the schedule. If there are any hitches or things that come up in the design that might delay production, we will notify you right away to revise the production schedule.

Can I make any changes?

With your package, you will have two separate opportunities to make revisions. We will design the front page first in order to give you the general idea of what the site looks like. We will then send you a link to that page. At this time, you may review it and make any suggested changes to the pictures, colors, links, layouts, etc. Once you have offered your changes, we will make them and continue with the design for the remainder of the site. Once the site is completed, we send you another link to make your final round of suggested revisions. After we receive those, we will make them and then post your site to it’s final destination. Any graphic or picture revisions after that, we will be happy to make for our standard hourly rate.

How are updates handled?

With all Xpress websites, you will receive access to update your textual information via our Xpress Updater in your Control Panel. Any textual updates, you can make from there for free. From your control panel, if you decide you need them at a later date, you may purchase any available website “add-ons.” Any updates to graphics or photos that do not fall within the add-ons menu in your control panel, we can make for an hourly fee. If you are considering making some graphic or photo changes, give us a call and we can provide a specific estimate. Generally, simple graphic or photo modifications do not take that much time and can be done very economically.
